Viola L. (nee CHURCHILL)
Viola L. Voigtlander , age 92, a resident of the Spooner Nursing Home, died Friday, Jan. 12.
The former Viola Churchill was born on September 14, 1897 at Washington County, Iowa. She resided in Janesville, and Des Plaines, Ill., before coming to Spooner in 1943. On November 19, 1921 she was united in marriage to Glenn Voigtlander at Geneva, Neb. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spooner and the VFW Auxiliary, Spooner.
She is survived by four daughters, Leona Olson, Lila Moore, and Beatrice Stafford, all of Spooner, Louise Larson, Wyoming, Minn., three sons, Vensel and Clarence Voigtlander, both of Spooner, Donald Voigtlander, Trego, 26 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, three brothers, Leroy Churchill, Yucca Valley, Calif., Gola Churchill, Brawley, Calif., Lavern Churchill, Pamona, Calif., two sisters, Bertha Condon, Waverly, Neb., Gretchen Hoadley, Ventura, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962, a son, William in 1985, two sons in infancy, one brother, two half-brothers and two half-sisters.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 15, 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spooner with the Rev. Gary Nokleberg officiating. Spring burial will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner. Visitation was Sunday evening at the Dahl Funeral Home, Spooner.
