ZEHM, Harriet Sophia "Hattie" (nee KESLER)

Harriet Sophia (Hattie) Zehm was born in Boyceville, on June 9, 1891 the daughter of George and Dora Kesler

When she was a small child her family moved to the town of Casey, Washburn county, where she grew to womanhood.

On March 1, 1913 she was united in marriage to John Zehm at Shell Lake, and to this union three children were born.

The family has resided in the town of Chicog for the past 50 years.

Mrs. Zehm passed away on Saturday, January 11 at the Hayward hospital at the age of 72 years.  One sister, Elizabeth, and four brothers, George, Bert, William and Benjamin, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, John; two sons, William of Evergreen, and Robert, of Chicog; one daughter, Margaret Chappell, Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Davis, Spooner, and Mrs. Margaret Fye, Seattle, Wash.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 14, at 3:15 p.m., at the Dahl Funeral Home, with Rev. Russell Buck officiating, burial in Spooner Cemetery.

ZEHM, John L.

John L. Zehm, 86, a resident of the town of Chicog, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Spooner.

He was born on August 19, 1891 at Fairmont, Minn.  His family came to Washburn County in 1901 and moved to town of Casey in 1903.  He has lived in Casey - Chicog area since.

He was united in marriage to Harriett Kesler at Shell Lake on March 1, 1913.

He engaged in farming his entire life.

His wife preceded him in death on January 11, 1964

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Elliott (Margaret) Chappelle of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two sons, William and Robert of rural Spooner; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Scanlon of Spooner and one brother, Ed Zehm of rural Spooner.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 18, at 10 a.m. at Dahl Funeral Home.  Rev. Veryl Schubert officated, with burial in Spooner Cemetery.

ZIMMER, Arthur J.

Arthur John Zimmer was born in St. Paul on July 27, 1884 and grew to manhood there.

He came to Spooner and began railroading about 35 years ago, retiring about three years ago.

Mr. Zimmer passed away on Tuesday, May 11 in Spooner at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 14 days.

Surviving are one brother, Erwin of Crookston, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Loretta Branson of Salida, Colo.; two nephews and two nieces.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 15 at 10:30 a.m. from Dahl Funeral Home, Rev. Byron C. Nelson officiated with burial in family lot in Oakland cemetery, St. Paul, Minn.
